User registration/creation - choosing the user group

Hello,

Is it possible to alter or expand the user registration functionality so that:
1 ) newly registered user is created under user group other than 'guest accounts' node?
2) newly registered user nodes are created under user group nodes based on some sort of parameter? For example, current siteaccess?

Is it possible to have two independent registration interfaces for the above goals?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hi Piotrek

1 ) newly registered user is created under user group other than 'guest accounts' node?

See site.ini
[UserSettings]
# Where to store newly self registered users
DefaultUserPlacement=12

http://ez.no/doc_hidden/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_6/reference/configuration_files/site_ini/usersettings/defaultuserplacement

2) newly registered user nodes are created under user group nodes based on some sort of parameter? For example, current siteaccess?

I think you'd have to do this as an on publish workflow

Is it possible to have two independent registration interfaces for the above goals?

With different site accesses you could, or you could create a custom module view (based on user/register) in you own extension.
