User register fail sometime (3-4 %)

However, about 3-4 % of all user registring fail in that the created user object is empty, no data. However, the user is "created" in that he is an member of the guest_accounts user group. But there is no data on the user, all mandatory data is also gone. Anyone know what may cause this? I have not been able to replicate the error myself, only gotten it from user registring. Apparently any validation of attributes is bypassed when cookies are disabled in the user agent, and user/register published the user object.
