Sorting by date

Both of them have a date field. Let's call it "Date". What i want is to get a list of news and notes of that folder orber by the date user has entered in administration. Something like... Note 1 New 1 New 2 Note 2 Note 3 Note 4 New 3 Is this possible? Thanks.
