I think eZ publish is a really good cms but I just need a better documentation.

1) How do I use the permission system in eZ pubish. For now I can see 4 groups:

Guest accounts - Administrator users - Editors - Anonymous Users

I made a new user for the group "Editors". This new "Editor" user is able to create new "Administrator users"?!?!? How can that be???

2) What tags can be used in eZ publish???

3) How can files be restricted so that only registered users can download them???

1)
This is a default setup bug for the Editor group. I have posted a bug report that you can follow: http://ez.no/community/bug_reports/users_in_edit_group_can_create_new_admin_users

2)
A list of XML tags can be found in the doc pages: http://ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/reference/xml_tags

3)
You should use the role system (in the user tab). Set up a usergroup for registered users that are allowed to download files. Deny other users this privelege.

To your p. 3: "How is it possible to restrict access to downloadable files"?
I'm not able to find out where this can be done in the admin-interface?

Available restrictions to modules are:
collaboration
content
error
ezdhtml
ezinfo
form
notification
search
layout
package
pdf
reference
role
rss
section
setup
shop
trigger
url
user
workflow

I don't see any download here. I also would appreciate documentation on some of these modules. What is ment with form and reference module?
A form-object can be created if this exists as a content-class, and the user have access to create on content>formclass(for a spesific section), so I don't know what form is doing as a module.

Can anyone explain this?

Best regards
Z

Zinistry, one way you can accomplish this is by creating a new content class (eg 'file' or 'download') for your downloads.

You can then specify that only 'users' are allowed to view 'files' or 'downloads'.

Hope this helps.
