This has basically been added as we speek (so there is no other info around, yet) and will be in version 3.2 (that's what Bard said, anyway). I think the release plan for 3.2 will be published as soon as 3.1 final is out (June 25). Maybe they put it in 3.1-2?

Anyhow, if it is important, get the files from svn and hack it into 3.1. I think this should be possible.

I agree with you here. The permissions can be quite limited in the current system.

What I'm advocating is that the permissions are associated with the content object and not the node.

I see permissions and page layout as being fundamental core elements of the system. I believe that this issue needs to be sorted out sooner rather than later.

I believe that page layout should be associated with the node tree and permissions should be associated with a content object.

It seems that the override system will address the pagelayout issue. Though I can see the matching on url alias as introducing issues as the url alias can change if the content can change. Similar issues with "Nice URLs" have been discussed here http://ez.no/developer/ez_publish_3/forum/suggestions/user_contributed_docs_change_from_url_alias_to_node_id_linking

I think that the pagelayout functionallity should be removed from sections and they only be used for permissions.

Bård I'm more than happy to discuss this with you and the development team. I can be contacted at [email protected].

Cheers
