Missing object title in admin interface

Hello,

I am having problems with missing object titles in the admin content list.

I changed the "article" class to a "page" class added a few attributes and changed the "name" field to "title". I then added a few "pages" with no problems ("titles" displaying correctly). I later decided to change the "title" attribute back to "name" and that's when the problem started. I added a new "page" sucessfully but when it had saved and the admin interface returned to the folder view the new "page" is showing up with a blank name. If I re-edit the "page" the "name" edit field is repopulated with the value I orginally entered. This suggests the "name" is being saved.

I hope this all makes sense.

Any one have any ideas why the "names" of new objects are no longer showing up in the admin interface?

Hrrrm, the only thing I could think of would be to make sure that you updated the 'Object name pattern' on the Class editing screen when you made the change back 'name'. It should use the <i>identifier</i> from the field you want showing up as the objects title - in your case, probably <i><name></i> and not <i><title></i> or the like.

Hope this helps,

Alex

This was exactly what it was. It is interesting that it doesn't affect any other parts of the admin interface. Many thanks. Ed.

Glad to hear it's working properly once more!
