Our server is a 64bit dual opteron 2.6.13-15.7-smp (4 GB ram) with SuSE10, php 4.4.0-6 (tried 4.4.2 too), apache2-2.0.54-10.3 and mysql-4.1.13-3.2.
I use eZPublish 3.7.3 (never tried anything else on this server) and experience heavy memory problems.
In the php.ini I had to set a memory limit of at least 64MB to not get a "Allowed memory size of XXX bytes exhausted" every time. Same on the cli version of php for cronjobs. The very same cronjob which needs only a few MB memory limit on other machines eats like 50MB on this box.
Anyone who can confirm my problem?

It seams there is no such problem with eZP 2.2.7 pages on this server.

cheers, Patrizio

Well considering that 64bit code uses somewhere from more to much much more memory (but probably no more than double) that could very well be true. Personally I've set PHP memory limit to 64mb even on a 32bit system. Memory is cheap and eZ likes lots of it so why bother restricting it... (on that machine of yours, you will hardly run out of memory even with 64mbit anytime soon)

Hm, but eating more than 10 times as much ram has to be a bug. The question is where... :-/
