New installation on Macbook Pro without any problem. Registered administrator cannot log in neither will it allow a newly registered user to login - after submitting the user id and the password detalls it tells you that login details have been sent to my email but then when I try to login It says as follows:

"The system could not log you in.
Make sure that the username and password is correct.
All letters must be entered in the correct case.
Please try again or contact the site administrator."

So please can anyone help me with this problem?

Hi,

That mail sent to the user contains an activation link. Which is a verification. You can't access system with disabled account. Administrator can activate user account manually in the User object full view in administration interface.

Hi Lucasz, Thanks

But I cannot even login as a registered Administrator. So how could I activate my own account? Please elaborate as to how can I do it and why is it not sending me a verification email?

Shiv

Hi,

Are you that site administrator? If you used administration siteaccess to create an account by default you are registered as regular Member which does not have access to admin site.

Did you forget your admin password?

Thanks

Let me tell you what I did. I installed Ez Publish on my Macbook to be used locally on localhost.

I entered my name and password in the admin textfields before installing it. After installation I can get the local EZ website which is http://Shiv.local:8080/ezpublish/index.php/admin_site/user/login
and up to here it is alright but when you want to login to administration it refuses to accept the details which were already registered.

I don't know what is the problem really

Did you use a eZ Publish installer? If so, it is either your mistake in password or bug in the installer. I assume you have access to the MySQL thus you can reset admin password easily.

UPDATE `YOUR_DB_NAME`.`ezuser` SET `password_hash` = '',
`password_hash_type` = '4' WHERE `ezuser`.`contentobject_id` =14

Then login as admin with blank password. You can set new password later in the administration interface using "Change password" feature on the right.

Just one thing. Could you try with login "admin" and password "publish"?

Thanks a lot guys. I managed to solve it by uninstalling and reinstalling eZ Publish and used 'admin' as userid and registered password. Thanks again.

I know this is not the right section to discuss forum and email problems but nevertheless I would like to try my luck in case someone can come to my rescue.

I cannot take part in my forum nor do I receive an email after completing the forum form for registration. It says 'a message has been sent to my email address' but in vain.

i would also appreciate if anyone could help me reorder the sequence of the content with the navigation text. I tried with content structure but did not work.

Thanks
Shiv
