At the moment i am migrating my existing community to ezPublish. After reading a lot of stuff about import/export and Authentification on ezPublish, i thought it would be better to auth my user thru LDAP.

The Advantage of this would be a central tool for auth my Members to different Services, like Jabber or other external tools.

Are there any disadvantages I should think about when using LDAP as Auth Service for a Webcommunity which is available on Int(er)net not Int(ra)net? I am quite new to this and maybe there are security issues?

I am also thinking of speed issues when using LDAP. Have somebody more detailed experience with LDAP an can give me a tip which Auth Method I should use for a growing community with over +10.000 Members?
