IE8 requires login on every page

This is probably an IE8 setting problem - not an eZ Publish problem -- but hear me out.

I have created a user-only site for our company, which requires member login to browse. This is working very well, having been tested on many computers, operating systems, browsers, etc.

EXCEPT: on the company CEO's computer (of course), running Windows XP, using IE8. After logging in to the site upon every page change he is required to log in again. I have:

  • set IE8 security settings to Default
  • set IE8 privacy settings to Default
  • set IE8 Compatibility View to Off
  • Cleared IE8's temporary Internet files
  • Examined all of the Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced settings for restrictive setup

And still the problem persists.

If anyone is aware of what might be causing this (within IE8 or otherwise) I would like to hear from you.

Thanks in advance!

Use the fiddler tool from microsoft (or any other network sniffer) to check the session cookies that are sent from eZP to the browser. In a similar situation, eZ was found to send different session cookies that confused IE - but not other browsers. The solution was altering eZP settings so that it used a different session cookie for every siteaccess.
