No, it's not a silly question, I often ask other people that question do. But in this case I did remember the Golden Rule of eZ Publish -- "Clear the cache" and it did not fix the problem. In the end I got round it by adding a final slash to the external URL, which wasn't recognised and so wasn't corrected. I still find it a strange idea that eZ Publish should try to correct the case of external URLs when I enter them, can anyone explain why it does that?
