Federate dbs with ezpublish

The aim of this project is to use Ez as a top information system, that will federate several other sources that are Read only information. As a example we have a page that describes some information about Africa, in Ez way (a node, object, etc). Added to this page some other information about Africa will be displayed by asking to other resources outside Ez publish. They are two ways of do this I think. - Import all data to ez publish with a temporary script. - Use Ez to deal with dynamic content and read from the other sources on the fly. In my opinion the second one is the best approach. All the communication with external sources will be manage by function operators that will fecth and fill the displaying templates. Is this a good approach? Somebody has some experience about something like this that can enlighten me, in solutions and performances issues of this problem. thanks Pierre Tissot
