Hello,

I have 3 small sites I need upgrade to 3.9.0
The oldest is a 3.7.3 site.
All the sites was upgraded before 4 ou 7 times.
I noticed there are one or anoher problem related with the upgrades - class definitions not updated, errors when running scripts to upgrade to the latest version, etc.
So I thing start from new sites and import the content from the old ones - even if this is requires more work and time.

So, instead of upgrade the sites from one version to another, Im wondering if is viable export the content (not including class definitions) from the old site and them import the content into a new 3.9.0 fresh installation.

thank you

I have tried something similar before, but it was not to a 3.9.0 installation. It worked pretty good for the content as far as I could see and test, but related objects were messed up. The related objects were mainly images, so articles showed the wrong images or no images at all. I think because eZ Publish assigned new/different object id's to them at import.

My advise is to test it on a local 3.9.0 installation first.

Thanks for your valuable info!

Just another question: have you used the import/export web interface, or a CLI interface?

Someone have a suggestion to workarround the related objects issue?

note: I will use 3.9.3, not 3.9.0 (my mistake)
