Hi, and happy new year to everybody ;-) At the beginning of eZ publish install process this message may be displayed:
Shell commands
These shell commands will give proper permission to the webserver.
cd /usr/local/www/ezp39
chmod -R ug+rwx design extension settings settings/override settings/siteaccess settings/siteaccess/admin var var/cache var/storage
chown -R www-data:www-data design extension settings settings/override settings/siteaccess settings/siteaccess/admin var var/cache var/storage
The -R option means "recursively" so I think it would be better to display this message:
cd /usr/local/www/ezp39
chmod -R ug+rwx design extension settings var
chown -R www-data:www-data design extension settings var
