I see that there are many bugs from eZ 3.10.0 and earlier version fixed in eZ 3.10.1. This errors are also fixed in eZ 4, but 3.10.0 is the last version which runs with PHP 4 so me and other users that have only PHP4 on their servers can't use it. So a logical (and for me very important) question is: When will eZ 3.10.1 be released?

Hi Marko We are working hard to get the next maintenance releases out (3.9.5, 3.10.1, 4.0.1). This involves solving a few more difficult issues (url alias related). But expect this in a few weeks from now.
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, Great to hear you are making progress on the next releases. Especially those URL problems. They will be gratefully received. Just a clarification is the next 4 release 4.0.1 or 4.1? Tony

Let's hope so. Also, I hope that due to the half-a-year timespan between releases, seriousness of problems (especially urlalias-related) and the overall number of bugs, it will be possible to have the following release or two shortly after the upcoming ones. Just my two cents.

Hi Indeed, we are solving a long list of issues with the url alias family of problems being a particular hard one. We will probably inform the community by Friday where we are, right now it is too soon to have a good estimate. We also want to make sure the next releases are of excellent quality Paul

Hi Paul Thanks for the info. Regardless of the ability to give an estimate please let us know what's going on. Any information about what's happening, what's being worked on would be greatly appreciated. In particular an explanation of the url alias issue, what to avoid, does it only effect sites with translations etc would be great to have. BTW Roadmaps can be found on the issues site that show what's outstanding and what's been resolved per version.
3.10.1 - http://issues.ez.no/RoadMap.php?Id=703&ProjectId=3
4.0.1 - http://issues.ez.no/RoadMap.php?Id=732&ProjectId=3 4.1.0 alpha1 http://issues.ez.no/RoadMap.php?Id=798&ProjectId=3
cheers Bruce

Hi Paul, As explained in the last eZDev Days at Paris, the following versions of eZ will integrate more eZComponents. Due to the last upgrade (2008.1), I have to upgrade my PHP version to 5.2.1 against 5.2.0 for 2007.2. I guess it wil be a requirement to make it eZPublish run, no ? Max

And how long before the 3.10.1 and 4.0.1 release candidates becomes actual point releases? It feels like I've been waiting a year or so to roll over to PHP5. In fact, scanning my notes, it really HAS been a year. Wow, can't believe how quickly the calendar rolls past...

I would urge all of 3.x users to to plan for a 4.x move soon. All new development will be with PHP5/ezcomponents from now on .. and I can asure you, there is cool stuff coming up!

Well, yes, Paul, that's kind of the point behind all of us asking when the releases will finally be available and stable. A bunch of us have been trying to make the move to 4.x for something very close to a year now. We also understand that there will be a lot of groovy goodies, but what we don't understand is, when will it actually happen? Can you please offer a definitive date (plus or minus 2 weeks), when those of us who are still in a 3.9.x holding pattern can make a move to 4.x in a way which will not put our production web sites in jeopardy? Andy
