Reading the 3.8 changelog it says:

If you are upgrading from a version prior to eZ publish 3.5.2 you must follow the upgrade path version by version until version 3.5.2 is reached. You can then follow the steps in this document.

Do I understand it correct and can I upgrade in one step from 3.5.2 to 3.8.0?

Thanks Lukasz,

documentation is not really clear on the update path, so thanks for your answer. Next problem I got is that every installation above 3.7.0 gives an updatescript error:

Fatal error: eZ publish did not finish its request
The execution of eZ publish was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below.

It could be my installation, but how to debug this because I never get a debug output below.

Try put in second line in the update script which you run code:

error_reporting( 2047 );

Then run it again.

I have the same error message at the same place, and no debug output. I'm afraid I don't understand quite what you mean, Lukaz, or if I do, it doesn't work :)

Inserting that line at random places that could make sence, doens't give any helpable output.

How do I get the debug output for the update-script, and how do I get around the problem?

I'm migrating the site from one server to another, and upgrading from 3.6.0 to 3.8.3. The new server is running Apache/1.3.34 (Ubuntu) PHP/4.4.2-1build1.
