Siteaccess in extension?

I want to add a small override.ini.append.php file to my extension to augment the existing override in the main siteaccess. The structure followed is the same (extension/blah/settings/siteaccess/admin/override.ini.append.php). When i try this it doesnt work. All caches are cleared, no errors, etc are being seen.

I've not debugged this but is this supported?

unfortunately it's not supported. (I would need that feature too.)
