RSS Feeds: Howto Direct URL to FLV File

Steve Jones	Monday 02 March 2009 12:41:28 pm Hi, I am using my ez publish installation ( Version 4 )mainly for Content Management/Syndication via RSS. Now I need to Syndicate a Videochannel, but I can't find a way to get the URL to the FLV File into the RSS. When chosing "Video/Flashplayer" as a RSS Source I can chose "File" beeing part of the RSS Feed ( Class/Title/Description ), but this only returns a Link to the ez-publish Page where the Video is embeded. Is there any solution for this? Greets, Steve Jones

Do you want to have direct link to the movie (.flv) file in one of the RSS tags or you want to show a embeded player as content in e.g <description> tag? You can however workaround it by hacking RSS export module (not recommend) or built your own RSS output using layout view and custom template which will handle RSS (1.0/2.0 whatever). http://ez.no/developer/forum/setup_design/flash_xml_layout_cache/re_flash_xml_layout_cache__1 http://ez.no/developer/forum/developer/rss_export_and_flash/re_rss_export_and_flash__3 You also try some available contributions. There some custom RSS export extensions which might allow it. How to get a link to .flv file you can check in the player template in ezflow/ezwebin Good luck.
