Has anyone made or is working on a project management system with Gantt charts?

Not to my knowledge, but keep us updated. I think one extension already added jpgraph to ez. Never tried it. X+

and look here, at Paul Borgemans. (search in this site for):
http://www.ez.no/company/news/summer_conference_2004_day_1
<i> Other things at SCK-CEN included project management and knowledge management solutions. Apparently they've put a fancy Gantt scheme mechanism into eZ publish.</i> But it is not published anywhere.

Paul Borgermans (I believe) has done exactly this before. My logs on this conversation back in 2004 have become buried in long term storage unfortunately so there is a bit of hesitation from me and I can not speak with absolute certainty. Still if my memory serves me, he had shown me a working demo of a eZ publish as a project management tool which used gant charts through pubsvn+proxy (hidden so looking there won't help you I'm afraid). It was only a alpha version at the time but looked promising. Perhaps he could comment here.

We have indeed developed a template operator that produces Gantt charts when supplied with the correct data. I can't say how usable the code is for the community as it's been a while that I've looked at the code, but it's certainly working on a few ezp sites. Note: I work at the same company as Paul Borgermans, hence why I know this ;)

Hans, Please, Please, release it :-) I’m working in a non profit organisation that give away used computers for free to schools to help children learn how to use computers. We are about 50 people across Sweden working in different projects. It would be great to have a project management system with Gantt charts to keep track on progress and make it possible for people sign on to different projects.

Thanks Ekkehard for your help I have been looking at phproject and it could be the way to go if we can't find/make a ez publish solution that works. Our "dream" is to use ez publish for all Extra/Intranet functions like CRM, Project handling, Bug, community...

Hi, I currently use http://www.php-collab.org , not too bad, but as all of you I'm missing something built on the top of ez, with all the nice features Ekkehard and the other mentionned. What about building that together ? I'm ready to commit myself to take my share of the work. Over to you. X+

Hi there, We are looking to implement a gantt chart system for our internal intranet. Hans and Paul, any chance of the template code that creates the gannt chart page? If not, has anyone else produced date begin/end graphical pages? Thanks, Steve.

We have used php-collab in the past, but would surely appretiate an eZ based solution. One thing that's lacking to my knowledge is the ability to update multiple objects in a single form. For example, change the status of a list of tasks, or asign several of them to a person in a single form. There have been threads about this, but I guess one interesting solution would be to use an iframe and do single updates in the background without refreshing the page, sort of a poor-man's AJAX.
