Hi,

a friend asked us about an upgrade of his website to eZ.
He's using phpfusion for the common stuff (news, forum, images etc) as well as coppermine for a (seperate) media gallery with hundreds of photos.

Our task would be to merge to two systems into one eZ 4 installation.

Does anybody have any experience in doing a migration for
- user
- galeries
- images
- image comments and votings
from phpfusion and/or coppermine to ez4?

Any help is appreciated!
My current attempt would be to understand the database schema of these applications, do a DB export into CSV or XML and use one of the existing import functions to get the data into eZ 4. But if someone has some more advanced solution (or idea) for these source applications, please let us know.

BTW, about user passwords:
I guess, none of the source applications will store the user's password in clear text in it's database. How do you handle this issue when migrating users? I'd like to automatically create a new user with his old data (name, last name, email etc) in ez4 for each old account, which should send a mail to the user with an activation link, so he can choose a new password. This (email confirmation) has been in ez3, i hope, it's still in ez 4. How can one trigger that e-Mail sending, when importing hundreds of users?
