localhost mail issue

I just installed the XP version of EZ publish 3. I got it all working with a little pushing (I have PHP Admin installed also and had some issues with the localhost dir).

Anyway, I just signed up for an account at the admin link and of course my local system will not send an email for confirmation.

Is there a workaround for this issue via the GUI or if not what do I have to edit in the DB to activate accounts whilst I am developing locally.

Go to the settings\siteaccess\site.ini.append file and set the TransportServer=Your SMTP server name
TransportPort=25

it should work

Regarding the above message, idind't get it
i have the same problem
wht is the name of the localhost SMTP server then
if my machine is anme john on the local are network, and i call it localhost for sure
i am using the Windows XP , adn the EZ publish 3.3-4 and PHP is 4.3.4

Looking forward for help in this issue please, as i will have to publish my site soon , but needing to test that locally first
