Hy, your extension might have to set the character encoding for your mail, so the mail library is capable of encoding the subject and mail body correctly. If you are using ezComponents within your extension to create and send emails, take a look here: http://ezcomponents.org/docs/tutorials/Mail#character-encoding Standard ezPublish extensions and the build in mail library (eZP...Mail...something) is able to send german umlauts without any modifications. So here the problem might exist somewhere else. Let us know, Chris
