Hi,

as I wrote in a posting before, I am trying to create my first extension for eZ.

Everything is working fine, now I want to improve the speed. The template processings lasts over 10 seconds.

Can anybody tell me how to use the ez cache functions? Is there a documentation?

Thanx in advance!

Kind regards,
Emil.

Best wishes,
Georg.

Hm. I've found out, that there - might be - a bug in the extension translation system.

I've installed a site with two languages: german / english.

I've installed a small extension and created an extension translation.

In the pagelayout.tpl (and other templates), I use the i18n function to translate my strings, in the extension tpls I use the x18n function.

Sometimes (I don't know under which circumstances) the sites looses it's language information and the whole german site is shown in english. (Maybe it's a cache problem?)

The debug output says, that the "translation.ts" was not found. (I don't know if it means the normal translation.ts or the translation.ts of the extension)

Furthermore, the template creation lasted more than 10 seconds.

Now I've moved the translation of the extension to the normal translation.ts and only use the i18n function to translate the site.

The template load of the extension lasts 0.5 seconds, the translation problem doesn't occur anymore.

So - maybe - there is a bug in the extension translation? (which - furthermore - slow down the system?)

Kind regards,
Emil.

Best wishes,
Georg.
