When I install the corporate design, which design-catalog is then used?

In the installation process, when I change the details about the site(the corporate), both for frontend and admin, I think it would be best that also the design directories under the design (corporate) get the name I changed to during the installation-process.

Now I got base, corporate, admin and standard directories. Some files are used from standard, and admin, but what is the case about base? Can anyone explain why and what the base-files are for?

It uses design/standard, design/base and design/corporate.

What should be the basis for this name, the title of the site or?

Base contains the basis for the user site, for instance the pagelayout with menus and toolbars.
The custom design folder (e.g. design/corporate) is used to override the base and standard design with your own changes (new class templates for instance)./

Tnx for the explanation.

But, wouldn't two directories be enough? Why couldn't the base-files be put in the corporate-design?

What is logical to me, is that if I want to install the corporate design and use this, I expect to find the standard files under standard(just to give me design for new classes if I don't make an override design), and all the override files for my choice of demo-design(corporate) under the corporate-directory.

3 directories with design for one design-mode is too much I think.
