It turns out that the LDAP server that I connect to does not allow anonymous bind, so I have to specify the user name and password for to bind to the server. That is, I had to provide - LDAPBindUser and LDAPBindPassword in the LDAP.ini file.

But, i do not want to provide my LDAP user name and password in the LDAP.ini file. What is hte general work around for this?

Does the LDAP server team provide credetnails that are used only for this purpose and have no authorization to any applicaiton apart from binding to the LDAP server?

Or is it possible to use the credentilas provided by the user as LDAPBindUser and LDAPBindPassword instead? But if so how can I modify the LDAP.ini file to achieve this?

Hello,

I used to use the ldap connector : you have to create a "special account" for this. just for application, the team does already do that with others applications.

your ldap is a microsoft AD ?
