Translation of Online Editor

Hi,

I've mentioned this some time ago to the ez crew: It would be very nice, if an "international version" of the online editor will be produced.

I need a german version ...

The main problem: Some text strings are hardcoded in the .js file.

Suggestion: Just load an external xml-file within the .js which contains the text-strings for the editor.

Example of an other editor which use this "translation feature": http://www.openmymind.net/products/ewe/index.php

Kind regards,
Emil.

Best wishes,
Georg.

too poor to afford the EZ editor at present. Is it possible to use a GPL editor like EWE within ez publish? are there alternatives?

... and how do I integrate it into ez? so many questions :)

Hi,

sorry, I don't know GPL-alternatives to the ez editor.

But I can say: Don't try to modify the EWE Editor working with ez3. The main problem of EWE: You can't use two EWE-Objects on one page. (So if you have an article, the article has an "intro" and "body" field, so you need two editors on one page)

And if you really try rewrite the EWE Editor to run in ez3 you will run into many troubles. (Yes, I've tried it, but I gave up after 8h ;-)

All in all, the ez editor is really a solid piece of work. But I think ez can "borrow" some ideas from EWE - like the translation.

Kind regards,
Emil.

Best wishes,
Georg.
