The purpose of some comments are to enhance the article so...
Could you please add the facility to mark comments as incorporated. When a comments suggestions or changes are incorporated into an article you would mark the comment as incorportated. These incorportated comments would then dissapear from the bottom of the article. You will still be able to get to them via a link of course.
Maybe you could go one further and have catagories for comments so people can mark comments them theselves. 1. suggested change to article2. subject commentary

Wow! That is a really good suggestion. The ability to mark comments as incorporated or not, would extend their use by a good margin, especially in areas of collaboration.
