Hello again!

Thanks for your reply on my last question. I used FTP to copy all eZpublish files (from the zip-file) to my server. But when I try to open www.mydomain.com/index.php or even www.mydomain.com, an error message appeared: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: restore_error_handler() in lib/ezutils/classes/ezdebug.php on line 240". What does that mean? Can I sove this problem, or do I need another webhost? I have to use a free host, because I'm just learning to use eZ, so I don't want to spend a lot of money. I'm sure that Php is supported by this host.

Hi again.

Did you upload all the files in binary mode? All script files (ini, php, tpl, html...) need to be uploaded in ASCII mode. Mostly just pictures that shall be uploaed in binary. Most FTP programs has an auto function regarding this. Try that.

Did you upload to the root folder of your account?
Can you list the functions of your account if you know them (php version, apache version etc).

Best regards
Robin

I just uploaded all the files using CuteFTP. I didn't change any settings. Maybe that 's the problem. I'll also try to find out the Apache, PHP,... versions of my host. But I've also noticed that I have to apply for a Mysql database (the host doesn't support them if you don't ask for it), so it seems that I still have a lot to do to get eZ to work.

I do think the ASCII mode is the problem yes. If you don't have MySQL don't bother, you won't even finish setup...

I can make you an account on my server, for testing purpose if you like. And you are free to use (I won't charge you anything) that for testing for like a month or so, just to help you out. Since it's only testing, you won't use much bandwith, therefore I can do this. Then you can decide if eZ fits your needs, and if it does, find a host.

If this sounds interesting e-mail me for account info: [email protected]
