Special characters with texttoimage operator

Hi,

I'm using the texttoimage operator from
http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_6/reference/template_operators/images/texttoimage How should I encode the special characters such as ü à é ?
tried to replace by the ASCI code but it's not the solution.
