Hi,

I am new to ez publish and wanted some advice on the best way to set up a Intranet using ez publish.

I have searched around the articles/forums and some of them mention 'intranet_site' package during installation. But in version 4.3.0 there is no such package. So I did a 'plain_site' install and played around with it and successfully set up webdav to share files. But I really wanted to use the 'intranet_site' in hope that most of the requirements for an intranet site will already be configured.

Can someone advice me where I can find a solution/information on setting up Intranet site using ez publish.

Thanks in advance.

Intranet package was available untill 3.8.x releases. I think all functions in that package is present in ez web interface package.

Here's a link to 3.8 packages: http://ez.no/download/ez_publish/ez_publish_3_stable_releases/3_8/packages

And a link to 3.8.10 release: http://ez.no/download/ez_publish/ez_publish_3_stable_releases/3_8/3_8_10

But as it is an outdated release, it's supposed to be used just as sample, it would be better if you specify your requirements, so we could do some tips to you.

Thanks for the reply Thiago,

This may be a stupid question but can I use intranet_site available in 3.8 and install it in 4.3.0?

The main requirements are as follows:

1). User Accounts for each user on the system.

2). Documents folder for each user, which can be accessed using WebDav.

3). A share folder for all users to share documents. Accessible using WebDav.

4). Calendar for each user to add appointments.

5). Enable the administrator user to view calendars of all users.

The above list is the main requirements, but will add additional features as the client gets used to the system.

Hi,

Have you had a look at the ezTeamrooms extension. It provides all of the above, plus much more and is highly configurable. Its basically a Web 2.0 collaboration solution.

Hey Richard,

Thanks for the suggestion. I totally missed this extension. I have read up on it and sounds very exciting. I will download and try it out and update.

Thanks again for the recommendation.

Hi,

I have installed eZTeamRoom extension on 4.3.0 and it seems promising.

I wanted to know how I can enable WebDav to work with TeamRoom. I have created file folders within TeamRoom but cannot see them in WebDav.

I want users to be able to upload/download documents using webdav.

Any Ideas?

Hello Kunal,

We are using Ez Publish to make an intranet too,

We have used the clean grey interface from the ezwebin extention and modified the nav and frontpage to create a more intranet feel to the page. I think we are going to use ezteamroom as a seperate application linked off of our intranet. If you want to talk about some implementation ideas feel free to get in contact.

Thanks

Nicholas
