Redirect to child node

How can I redirect a request for a node to a child of that node?

I don't want to access the child node from that parent, I want to 'move' the request to that node. Is this possible?

Jason

To clarify, maybe an example: Department Folder contains multiple article objects including one designated as 'main'. When Department Folder node is requested, I want to redirect to the 'main' article.

I've read the posts on redirects and they all seem to make use of the uri redirect that's available via hidden form field. I need to do this without a form. I also tried node_view_gui function but I can't seem to get output.

What else can I try?

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason

Sounds like you want to use URL Translation. To access click on the Setup Tab and select "URL translator" from the LH menu.

See

I have the same problem and I resolve it with this solution:
1 - Use the url translator action at setup section
2 - Create a new system forwarding (the first type)
3 - At the New virtual URL input put the parent alias node
4 - At the System URL input put the full system path of child node

In this way everything works good.
