Hehe, exactly. :) eZ Staff claims that eZ have these functionalities, but they are available through extensions not neccessarily created by eZ Crew. Well, I don't know what to think about it, extensions created by private people aren't always updated. There are many cool extensions for earlier versions of eZ that aren't ported to eZ 4.0.x, like e.g. personal frontpage. So, for example, eZ Staff might write that their engine has configurable user dashboard with customizable widgets (personal frontpage extension is just like that), but well, it doesn't work for eZ 4.0.1... Of course it all can be made for you. But it's not something ready-to-go. From one side, I understand that it's better to keep the core simple and extend it through extensions. But in my opinion there should be (more) official eZ free extensions that are updated every major release...
