Hi all.

Ok, so I'm new to ezpublish, and have to say it's great. I am planning to use it to run a website designed to share skin files at www.macish.org . There will be news, a couple of basic forums, and the main section will be for file downloads.

I decided to start off by editing the product class already in ezpublish to my own needs. Fine... I added an "author" field, (By the way, how do I get the title to display the title and author when a user is browsing?), and all the other fields i needed. Problems with 2 things, though...

1) Images

Due to the nature of the files, I will be needing the ability to upload and display a preview image of the file. Uploading the image is fine... I added an Image field into the class, and uploaded my image. However, It wont display, either in the admin editing screen where you can delete the picture or change it... or in the page display. (In the page display, do I need to add in an extra bit in the template to handle the image?). Can't work out why the image wouldn't be displaying in the admin interface though... My guess is something to do with the file renaming? I notice that any image i upload gets changed to php*****.jpg.... any ideas?

2) Files

Files upload fine... But if I upload a compressed file with an unusual extension (like a *.obpack file for Stardock Object Bar), ezpublish changes the file extension to a .zip file! I want people to be able to sirect install these skins from the server, and I dont want to have to put all the files in .zips before i upload them just to stop this happening... Is there any way to stop ezpublish from changing the file extension?

Cheers people :)

Many thanks

To get the title of your product, you could use {$node.data_map.content.title}. If you wan't to see the attributes available, try {$node|attribute(show)}

images: This might be a problem with rights. You need write rights to the var/storage directory of ezpublish.

Can't help you with the upload I'm afraid.
