Hi all,
I am trying to link a related object (image) into an xml text field and have it show up inline. I think the tag to do this is:

<object id="123" view="embed" class="myClass" />

but when i enter this into the xml text field, save and reload, it shows up as:

<object id="123" class="myClass" />

and shows up in the content view (non admin) as a url. Is this a bug? or is this how the xml field works? It seems like I should be able to enter this into the field but no luck so far :-(

Any ideas from anyone?

Hi Ben.

The XML tags can be found here: http://www.ez.no/manual/user/everyday

Furthermore, you'll have to write an embed override for the imageclass in order to display the images correctly. EzP displays a related object like a link by default. In EzP3.0 this file is called embed_class_5.tpl, in 3.1 I guess you can call it whatever you want as long as you specify it in override.ini.

There is a finished embed in the standard folder, so basically you just have to copy this to your override folder.

but

<object id="123" view="embed" class="myClass" />

is valid xml to be used in an xml text field according to that document (I was going by it anyway). I understand about making a new embed override, but I don't understand why this field is stripping part of the tag.

This might have something to do with your version of EZpublish.
The everyday functions document refers to the latest stable version I assume...

Hi,

The default view for object is embed and therefore
<object id="123" view="embed" class="myClass" /> === <object id="123" class="myClass" />, so don't worry about that if you want to use embed view. But in version 3.1, there is bug that view attribute for object tag is not valid. This bug will be fixed in next release of 3.1 and svn version.
