Images and Translation

Hello,

I've done a "news" site with two languages (english and french). I can see all of them without problem.

My question is about images because some texte are included into images. So how could I do to change images when I switch between languages ? Is there a way to know which is the current language in the template ? do I have to make two differents design repertories ?

I'm a newbie so maybe it's not the better method, all advices are welcome.
