Image placement.

I don't quite understand how to display content in the New Images block of the system. I have it set up as a gallery site, and I have created galleries, but the side content block remains empty.

I am not sure I understand where that block is pulling content in from.

Okay after looking even more and making all kinds of child objects, I still don't understand where the new images come from.

I see 

 <div class="toolbar-item first">
                            <div class="toollist">
        <div class="toollist-design">
        <h2>New images</h2>
        <div class="content-view-children">
                </div>
        </div>
    </div>

on the index page, but I am still confused about where those objects should be.
