Hi

I'm all new to this, but i wonder how to change templates (themes?) in this version of ez publish? There's no button called design or anything like that.

My test site is here : ez.frodem.no

Hi Frode,

Welcome to the community portal. About the design tab, look at http://share.ez.no/forums/setup-design/broken-admin-menu-after-adding-design-tab/(language)/eng-GB. You will need to edit an ini file to unhide that tab.

Hi

Thanks for the answer, trying to get that design button, but no luck still.. following the tip on that link.

Any older versions which got this button from the start?

Hei Frode, and welcome aboard the eZ Community,

Have you taken a look to this thread : http://share.ez.no/forums/setup-design/design-tab ?

The explanations given seems to be working fine.

Let us know how things go,
Cheers,

Hi,

I just installed a clean 4.5beta1, with eZ Webin. Then went to root/settings and edited menu.ini.

[TopAdminMenu]
# This list contains menuitems of the top menu in admin interface
Tabs[]
Tabs[]=dashboard
Tabs[]=content
Tabs[]=media
Tabs[]=users
# Hidden by default as of 4.3
#Tabs[]=shop
# Hidden by default as of 4.3
#Tabs[]=design
Tabs[]=setup

As you can see above, you can uncomment the "Tabs[]=design", clear all cache, and it should show in the admin.

Hi Robin

You do change all this in the admin part of ez and not anywhere else?

I found the Ini settings,

menu.ini

ezflow_site_admin

This path is correct?

Hi,

I do this on a file level, not through the admin. I have eZ installed with eZ Webin, not eZ Flow. I edited the menu.ini which is in root/settings. You might want to check there first.

I'll install eZ Flow also, see if I can confirm the location of the file to be edited.

Hi,

Ok, just tried, and with eZ Flow it is the same. Look for menu.ini in your-ez-install-root/settings. Uncomment that line "Tabs[]=design", clear cache and it should show.

Using this tab is only one of the ways to edit template files. You could also do this just as easy at the file level, in your preferred editor. Probably most developers use this last method, since editors also support code highlighting, snippets etc.

Remove the # in front of the line : #Tabs[]=design ?

Using notepad++ viewing the menu.ini file
