fetch function to retrieve user hierarchy needed please

hi all
in a protected area of my site i'd like to let my admin users to see the site users hierarchy, as follows:

-usergroup1
--usergroup11
---user111
---user112
--usergroup12
---user121
--user11
--user12 an so on...

what i need is something more easy than the users view in the administration section

any hint?
