Events Calendar How?

Hi all,
Im trying to produce a simple events calendar, where in my events page I can show the current weeks events by default as a list in the main content area, and have a month table in the right hand section, where I can select the week (by clicking on any date) and choose, previous, next month.

Ive done a fair amount of looking around in the site and Im getting a little confused as to the best approach.

Theres a calendar tool, which I tried to add to the top toolbar (via the admin interface) - which dosent work for me (the image dosent appear to exist when adding the tool and I notice no changes to the toolbar itself).

Theres also a couple of templates in the ezpublish default install (3.4.4) ./design/standard/templates/navigator/monthview.tpl
./design/intranet/override/templates/monthview.tpl
which I havent figured out their purpose or how to use it.

Then theres a community supplied extension of an events calendar which took me a while to figure out how to work, but I got the furthest with. The biggest downfall of this one appears to be that it dosent use an event class (which has some implications in regards to the attributes I want events to have as well as not appearing to fit with the use of content classes as a standard).

Ive noticed a number of ezpublish sites have calendars working and would like to know how people have gone about it.

thanks in advance

Arran

Hi

Calendar seems to be a very popular requst.. I have used the Agenda plug in as I found the monthview from EZ very hard to use.. In the end I did not manage to make an even calendar of it..

The way I used the agenda was to make an calendar event class containing several customized attributes, in addition I had date: date_from and date_to. I then edited the agenda template code to fecth on calendar_event/date_from and calendar_event/date_to. For an example se:

http://www.grunderskolen.no/content/view/full/440/day/15/month/12/year/2004

In order to customize it I belive you will have to learn some template code.

Cheers

Thanks Tore

the agenda template appears easily to be the best way to go.
After messing around with it for all of 10 minutes I have the month view looking great.
All I need to do is sort out the day view and Im good to go.

cheers
