Currently, if a node is hidden using the hide option in 3.6/3.7, email notifications of changes to the node are still sent out to users who have subscribed to the parent of the hidden page.
Is it possible to exclude hidden nodes from the notification function? Has anyone made this modification before?

Thanks Kristof - I should have broadened my search a bit, this did not come up when I was checking for existing bugs. Thanks for the tip...that was exactly what I needed.
