After reading the previous message I finally got into my site, after having struggled for hours to find out why I got this "Access Denied
- You don't have permission to access this area"

It was one little setting in the site.ini file:
[SiteAccessSettings]
CheckValidity=true #instead of false

And the explanation given about this setting is:
#Set to true if you want the setup system to be activated

How was I to know that the "Access Denied" message was all about this?!?!? Mildly frustrating.. And I couldn't find anything in the sdk or manuals about this setup system...well got to go and find out what this setup system is...

regards,
claÜs

I am having the same problem, and can't figure out why. When I change the value you mentioned to true, I get a Set Up Utility Screen. Is that what you get as well?

Yes, and I just thought I had solved the problem, but noooooo still the same message "Access denied....... "

Do you still get that same message too, after you have done the configuring?

Read the article Volker mentions in his post, and the one mentioned in that post. I created the following Role for my Anonymous user:
user login *
and it solved the problem.

Hope you get it solved,

Thanks for all help. I must have messed up some file permissions or config files, I re-installed all of it and started at scratch, so now it's working:)

The trick that got me of track in the start was the setting:
[SiteAccessSettings]
CheckValididy=true

I couldn't find documentation on this, and there is nothing in the sdk about it.

The role thing mentioned in your message, is set to that in my "role view" by default, so its no issue for me. Strange if you are using the RC2 as well?!
