I'm setting up an extranet site and I need to be able to create multiple secured areas by group, and I'm wondering if this setting can help me out somehow, there is nothing on the site about it that i could find after several searches.

Hi,
If I understood you right, you can achieve that by setting up multiple siteaccess (one for each different secure area), then turning on :
[SiteAccessSettings] RequireUserLogin=true [SiteSettings] IndexPage=/content/view/full/your_entry_node_id
at each siteaccess's site.ini.append file
At this point you should be presented with a login form in order to enter to these areas (siteaccess), after authentication and depending on the roles* of each user, they will have restricted access to the DB content objects (folders, articles, forms, etc)
*First, you have to define your Roles Policies (set of permissions on your content objects) and assign groups and users to this roles

The entry is not used and has been removed from site.ini in Exponential 3.4.
