After reading the multiple site configuration, it is still unclear to me how I can have one site www.test.com and www.test2.com run by the same ezpublish, I am running apache 1.3 php 4.3.8 and I have virtual hosting on, I just cant figure out where to point my web server nor how to add an additional site to ezpublish

any help would be greatly appreciated, or a pointer to a howto

After Reading :

I have one virtual site up but I cannot figure out how to add another?

There should be a step by step how to add another site, with the docs I have gotten as far as:
init the db (from the manual install)
setup the override site.ini.append.php
and copying and editing respective siteaccess files

but that does not tell you that in the default mysql the login in admin, password is publish and you will still get Object not found when logging in, nothing tells you what object is missing, I will continue this thread as I find out, if anyone else uses this for multiple sites and can help out I would appreciate it

Is it possible to install one instance of ezpublish outside of the site root directory and symlink the directories that do NOT change? Like putting the /design, /settings, and /var directories in the htdocs/ folder and then symlinks for the other directories that are the core of the system.

I've done this with another cms with no problems. I'm interested in switching to ezpublish. Has anyone used this method for multiple sites on the same server?

I've searched the site but found no mention of this method.

- Nevermind: I think I got it...

Hi,
set up correctly dns for sites and check site.ini.override.php "MatchOrder"

example:

[SiteAccessSettings]
CheckValidity=false
MatchOrder=host
HostMatchType=map
HostMatchMapItems[]=www.firstsite.net;firstsite
HostMatchMapItems[]=admin.firstsite.net;firstsite_admin
HostMatchMapItems[]=www.secondsite.net;secondsite
HostMatchMapItems[]=admin.secondsite.net;secondsite_admin
