Hi,

Currently we're having an issue with servers and we need to upgrade all clients site to be able to work on php 4.4.

This turns into an issue as we have around 7 client sites that are on ez 3.4.1 and according to a message on: http://ez.no/download/ez_publish it mentions that these older versions of ez cann't be used on php 4.4.

Actual message says: Note that you can not use eZ publish 3.5 or 3.6 with PHP 4.4 or PHP 5.

Has any one tried running ez 3.4.1 on php 4.4? any good experiences on it?

Adding to this I've tried upgrading ez 3.4.1 to 3.7.5 with taking a few steps in the middle such as . 3.4.1 > 3.4.4 > 3.5.x but saw this might be a never ending nightmare.. which by then I just tried upgrading directly to 3.7.5 but as suspected it didn't work..

Is there a fast, easy and working way to upgrade from 3.4.1 to 3.7.5

Thanks,
Fabricio

No pain no gain. A few months back I upgraded 4 sites from 3.4.1 to 3.8.1 (and now 3.8.4)

3.4.1 -> 3.5.0
3.5.0 -> 3.5.11 (which was latest then)
3.5.11 -> 3.6.9 (latest then)

Then I upgrade PHP from 4.3 to 4.4.

Finally:

3.6.9 -> 3.8.1

Documentations for these steps are all readily available on this site.

If I had more time, I would write less code.

Hi,

Good luck. Yes, the best way it to run all the upgrade sql scripts on all the sites, move the var and setting on the new install and it should be ok.

Moreover, if you update the mysql too from 4.0 to 4.1 and were using utf8, be sure back up, and have a look a Kristof script to upgrade a few of the fields.

Good luck !
