Hey guys,
I've tried search for phonetic but couldn't really find anything so I may be a bit off but hopefully I'm able to explain it. I have my site locale set to Norwegian and eZP turns untranslated texts into something in the direction of a phonetic text. For example:
{"Files"|i18n("someting_that_doesnt_exist")} would produce "[Feeles]"
I'd rather have it not being translated if there is no translation available. How do I disable it?
I'm running on 4.0.6
Cheers

Hi Magnus !
Weird. Could you share the content of site.ini's [RegionalSettings] block ?
Cheers !

Weird.
Are you saying this is not an eZ Publish feature? :)
Could you share the content of site.ini's [RegionalSettings] block ?
[RegionalSettings] Locale=nor-NO ContentObjectLocale=nor-NO ShowUntranslatedObjects=enabled SiteLanguageList[] SiteLanguageList[]=nor-NO TextTranslation=enabled
I can't see anything obvious that might cause this. I don't think it has always been like that although it's such a long time since I first developed the site I don't remember for sure. Back then it was 4.0 and has been upgraded by eZ Networks.

Hi,
If you activate DevelopmentMode in your site.ini, eZPublish shows untranslated content in phonetic language.
You can disable it if you want to show content in default language :
[RegionalSettings] DevelopmentMode=disabled
