Hi all! I was setting up a site using 3.4.3 running on a redhat 7.3 box with httpd 1.3.23, php 4.3.4 and mysql 4.0.18. It was slow, but my main concern was that searching gave no results whatsoever. A search in the forums gave me the hint to run a "GRANT CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES ON mydb.* TO myuser@localhost IDENTIFIED BY 'mypassword';" for the user running this site, as this was required for my version of mysql. It did the the trich with the searching, AND it made my site fast. Very fast. The difference was really substantial. First of all I think the hint on the mysql concering the searching should go either in the bundled doc or at least in the FAQ. Secondly I wonder if the effect on speed is real, i.e. if the granting actually made the difference. Have anyone experienced this before? felix
