every time I click on a link in the readymade site, it takes often mote than 60 seconds to start loading a page.

My URL is http://localhost/~eflaten/ezpublish/index.php/news

EZ cant be that slow or is there some setup things i have done wrong. I followed the recomendations by the installer - I believe.

Thanks,

sorry, forgot to give som more infomation I believe is important. My system is:
Mac OS X 10.3.5 (latest)
MySQL 4.0.18,
PHP Version 4.3.4 by www.entropy.ch Release 2,
Apache/1.3.29 (Darwin)
My EZ is 3.4.2

I downloaded the ezpublish-3.4.2.tar.gz and dropped the ezfolder in a folder in the webserverfolder. Started up index.php. I choosed the theme newssite.

I used the SQL frontend Cocoa MySQL and made new database and selected this on to experiment with.

Then I was very happy to read that I can make my own inputpages with input data I choose. Thank you!!

Now if i only can speed this up...is my mac slow? Its 1,25 gHZ G4 prosessor with 1 gig ram.

Hi Erlend,

This sounds a bit strange. I got eZ publish installed on my iBook G4 (1GHz) with 512mb ram. Allthough not the fastest machine in the world, it does generate a page a lot quicker than 60 seconds.

Are your permissions correct? Is Apache able to write cache files to var/? Check the var/cache/ini directory, it should contain a bunch of .php cache files...

Best regards,

You can also try turning on debug output in your site.ini override. Any serious issues with permissions will be listed.

Have tried out some php-accelerators that I read about on ez.no but with no success on my local apache in my G5 box. Anybody else tried out php-accelerators on their mac-system?

I turned on debug and there was noe permission error. But the slow part is more mysql than ez The database used from ten to 20 seconds to output. I am refering to clicking around on the admin pages.

I will get back to this but first I have to get my new mysql (latest) up and running. There is a password problem with the new version of mysql.. Ez (the new alfa version) will not get access to the new mysql either. Maybe ez also will meet the same problem as the GUI tool CocoaMySQL acCessing MySQL 4.1.7 Discussed here:
http://www.entropy.ch/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=1650

and as just as you know. I am not very good in unix so I just have to write commands as provided.
