Preview tab in admin blanked out

When I am logged in as an Administrator, the preview tab in the administration area is available and sums up the object's attributes and values.

But when an Editor logs in, the button is blanked out and has a tooltip telling "Tab is disabled, enable on dashboard", but I see no setting on the dashboard.

How can I enable the preview-tab, the way it also works for an Administrator?

See also a screenshot of the problem.

upgrade? It is actually in right menu, not dashboard. We have fixed that help text in svn.
But on clean install, this tab should be enabled by default.

I am running the latest stable release - 4.3.0.

In the right menu there is no option to enable this tab. It's a clean install - the administrator has this tab (and works correctly), but for Editors it is disabled.

I surfed to this URL:

<admin URL>/user/preferences/set/admin_navigation_content/1

And the tab is available. The only thing is, there is nu visual setting - or I am really missing something.

hmm, what kind of install is this? webin / flow / plain ?
To enable the setting, follow description here (from: "To enable users to change their Administration Interface preferences"):

André: thank you, the preferences are now added to the right side bar.

It was the 'plain' installation, which resulted in:

[Toolbar_admin_right]
Tool[]
Tool[]=admin_current_user
Tool[]=admin_bookmarks

So without the admin_settings per default.

Great!
