Hello,
I think I confidend enough with the r 3.0 to try to design a new feature : an RSS parser.
What I plan to have is very much like the module on ez 2.x : You have : * news sites (a new class with the name and the url of the RSS feed... as attributes), * category (exsiting class folder),* news items (a new class with the title, the desc and an url as attribute).
I would then create a cronrss.php that will grab the rss feeds from the news sites, parse it (using ezXML lib) and create a new item object under the news source object (if it doesn't exist already).
I've got a few questions :
1) Does the feature exists already on r 3.0 and am I reinventing the wheel ?
2) How to share that ? I will create my own classes with my attributes. It will have specific ids based on my own installation. What if someone else wants to use it ? Are they going to need to create by hand the same template than the one I created and modify the code to alter the ids ?

Hi,
I have not made one, but its something i am looking at as a rest project, I am hoping it won't be too tough, i am guessing the SDK has alot of the tools we will need. I'll let you know if i get anywhere, as its a background project that has not started yet. I was hoping to use the SOAP interface to pick up the info and then parse to get the info.
I was going to wait until the full release of eZ3 before i started.
Let me know if you get anywhere with it.
