Moving design from local pc to hosted site question

I have installed eZ publish on my hosted site, choosing the 'corporate' design, and it works fine.

I then move my customized design directory structure from my local pc - into the 'corporate' design folder on the server (transferring as .tar and unpacking into folder)

When i access the site some parts of the demo design is missing, and I then start to wonder if I am m i s s i n g something.

Moving an installation is probably a trivial task to you eZ experts out there, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be glad to read up on it, but for now I feel exhausted trawling the documentation and the net for solutions..

Kind regards
John

Hi John,
Exactly what is missing? It could be the storage and or cache folders that contains the pictures/content or something? Also how is the ownership on the files on your pc? What os are you running on?

just a thought.

Also, you should ensure that you are moving your ini and ini.append files associated with your customized site. That could explain why you aren't seeing some of the design elements.

When in doubt, clear the cache.

Thanks for the input, I am running 3.2.1 on a xp installation, and i want to move this to a linux hosted site online.
FIRST it would be great to check if i followed the right procedures by checking up some docs on the subject.. eg.. when moving from local install to hosted solution guidelines..

Surely info like this must be around, somewhere?

Thx for any help!
